26 Recruits
Complete 2010
Youth Police
Academy
Freehold Borough
PBA
July, 2010
The men and
women of the
Freehold Borough
PBA salute the
twenty-six
recruits who
recently
completed the
2010 Youth
Police Academy.
The PBA helps
sponsor this
event, and it
keeps getting
better every
year.
It is no easy
feat either.
They put up with
screaming,
in-your-face
drill
instructors,
hours of
pushups, and
miles of
running, but on
Friday, July 30,
2010 they
graduated the
Freehold Borough
Police
Department's 3rd
Annual Youth
Police Academy.
The two-week
program is
available for
kids between the
ages of 12 to 16
years old and is
held every year
by the PD.
It is a
condensed
version of the
actual police
academy, and it
is very intense.
Courses of
instruction
include blocks
given by the
FBI, Secret
Service, US
Marshals, Air
Marshals, ATF,
ICE, S.W.A.T.,
and much more.
Additionally,
there is a lot
of rigorous
physical
training
including
running every
morning and PT
every afternoon.
In the second
week of the
program, the
class does the
annual
Miracle Mile
run through the
Freehold Borough
downtown.
(The run is
actually about
1.5 miles)
While the
program
primarily serves
youths from
Freehold
Borough, we do
accept several
from surrounding
towns.
The Freehold
Borough Police
Department
congratulates
these twenty-six
recruits for
persevering
through a very
difficult
program.
